What this site is made of, and where the parts came from.

Type

Headings and labels are set in Roboto Condensed, which the site has used for years and which we kept. Body text is Source Sans 3 and code is JetBrains Mono. All three are open-licence families, served from this domain rather than from a font CDN — the reasons are in our piece on font pairing.

Build

The pages are static HTML and one hand-written stylesheet. There is no front-end framework, no analytics script and no consent banner, because there is nothing here that needs consent. The layout is CSS grid; the dark plate at the foot of every page is the only place a colour is inverted.
